Assistant Machine Operator (Multiple Shifts) at Pelton Shepherd Industries – Columbus, Ohio

Pelton Shepherd Industries is hiring an Assistant Machine Operator to support safe, efficient, and high-quality production operations. This role is ideal for dependable team players with manufacturing experience who want to build technical skills in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do
Assist with operating and changing over production equipment
Inspect, handle, and pack finished products per SOPs
Perform stacker and packer duties accurately and efficiently
Conduct quality checks (counts, weights, seals, print, dates)
Monitor machines and report issues to supervisors
Perform roll changes and minor preventive maintenance
Identify equipment or product issues and shut down machines when required
Maintain a clean and safe work area

What We’re Looking For
2+ years of manufacturing or production experience
Strong attention to detail and quality standards
Basic math, counting, and measurement skills
Ability to read and follow English SOPs
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment
Ability to work well in a team and communicate clearly
Flexibility to take on additional tasks as needed

Education
High school diploma or GED required
On-the-job training may substitute for experience

Physical Requirements
Stand and walk for extended periods
Lift up to 50 lbs; push/pull 75–100 lbs with assistance
Frequent reaching, climbing/balancing, and handling materials
Visual inspection of products and equipment required
