Key ResponsibilitiesCrew Leadership & Execution
Lead and direct assigned roofing crew members daily
Assign tasks clearly, monitor progress, and maintain productive workflow with minimal downtime
Train junior roofers in correct installation methods and maintain crew discipline and professionalism
Ensure jobs stay on schedule and meet performance expectations
Standards Compliance (Non-Negotiable)
Enforce Briggs Roofing Installation Standards for steep slope (asphalt shingles, metal roofing, DaVinci/Shake systems) and low slope (TPO/PVC, seam welding, flashing, edge metal)
Ensure proper flashing, ventilation, fastening patterns, and watertight procedures
No deviation from installation standards is allowed
Pre-Job & Job Start Execution
Review work orders and materials delivered vs. ordered; identify shortages before install begins
Ensure tools, safety equipment, and property protection plans are in place
Arrive on time, set up safety systems (anchors, harnesses), and confirm tear-off and install plan with crew
In-Process Quality Control
Maintain efficient workflow and monitor installation quality continuously
Prevent common installation failures (improper nail placement, incorrect flashing, poor seam welds, valley misalignment)
Identify decking damage and notify supervisor immediately; assist with change order documentation when required
Punch List & Completion
Inspect drip edge, flashings, valleys, ridge alignment, ventilation, exposed nails, and cleanup before crew leaves jobsite
Correct all deficiencies before leavingno job leaves incomplete
Ensure magnets run thoroughly and assist in staging leftover materials
Material Accountability
Track material usage, prevent waste, and identify reusable materials
Report shortages immediately and return usable leftover materials properly
Safety & OSHA Compliance
Enforce fall protection, proper PPE, and safe work practices
Prevent unsafe shortcuts and stop work if unsafe conditions exist
Report incidents immediately
Required:
5+ years of roofing experience (steep slope or low slope required)
Proven crew leadership experience
Ability to read work orders and installation plans
Strong understanding of roofing installation standards
Ability to lift 75 lbs and work in all weather conditions
Valid driver's license (must meet insurance requirements)
Strong communication skills
Preferred:
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Experience with both steep slope and low slope systems
OSHA safety training or certifications
Competitive hourly pay ($25$35+ per hour based on experience)
