Senior Cybersecurity & Enterprise IT Technical Lead

Core4ce seeks a cleared Senior Cybersecurity & Enterprise IT Technical Lead to provide technical leadership, cybersecurity oversight, and enterprise architecture guidance for a large DoD program. This role is the senior technical authority, driving Zero Trust–aligned modernization and translating complex cyber risk into clear decisions for senior and SES-level leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead enterprise cybersecurity and IT architecture, engineering, deployment, and sustainment across multiple teams.
  • Serve as primary technical liaison between government sponsors and engineering teams; convert mission objectives into executable technical roadmaps.
  • Brief SES and senior leadership on cybersecurity posture, enterprise risk, and architectural decisions.
  • Participate in/lead Architectural Review Boards; review and validate designs for classified and unclassified environments.
  • Lead preparation and technical coordination for USCYBERCOM CORA and other cyber readiness inspections.
  • Act as technical escalation point for high-impact cybersecurity and infrastructure issues, providing rapid, risk-based guidance.
  • Shape and defend architectures across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid IL4/IL5/IL6 environments.
  • Support Authorizing Officials by translating vulnerabilities and tradeoffs into defensible, mission-aligned risk determinations.
  • Drive Zero Trust–aligned modernization (e.g., IDS modernization, SD-WAN, Comply-to-Connect, segmentation).
  • Implement and refine engineering project management frameworks to improve lifecycle visibility and execution discipline.
  • Optimize platforms and services to reduce cost and risk, contributing to significant annual savings
  • *This position is designed to be flexible, with responsibilities evolving to meet business needs and enable individual growth.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret clearance (TS preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, IT, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience) or 14 years of related experience.
  • 10+ years of cybersecurity and enterprise IT experience in DoD or federal environments.
  • Proven experience as senior technical authority/chief engineer on large, complex programs.
  • Strong knowledge of RMF, CORA, Comply-to-Connect, and DoD Zero Trust.
  • Experience with IL4/IL5/IL6 architectures (cloud, hybrid, on-prem).
  • Demonstrated ability to brief SES/executive leadership on cyber risk and architecture.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • DoD 8570/8140 certifications (e.g., CISSP, CASP+, CISM, CCSP).
  • Experience with DHA, MHS, or similar health IT missions.
