EHR Clinical Training Specialist at StrideCare – Addison, Texas
About This Position
Job Summary: The Electronic Health Record (EHR) Clinical Training Specialist will conduct technical training for end users of athenaOne. Training may be in person, virtually or recorded and viewed individually. Additionally, the Clinical Training Specialist will be responsible for the ongoing development, maintenance and updating of training materials and plans, specific to roles throughout Stride Healthcare. Other responsibilities may include onsite/remote user assistance (workflow review, troubleshooting), go-live support for onboarding provider groups, resolving help desk issues and system admin support. Position reports to Director, Electronic Health Records.

- End User Training and Support (60%)
- Preparing Technical Support Documents (20%)

- Identifying/Refining Workflows (5%)

Support and Training Responsibilities
- Prepare classroom, virtual setting and training environment prior to training session
- Create, utilize and maintain training materials
- Provide training to staff and providers on clinical information systems including (but not limited to) athenaOne, athenaOne, patient portal, 3rd party solutions, etc.
- Administer end user proficiency assessments
- Follows up and escalates unresolved training questions and issues as needed
- Assist in process improvement by identifying inefficiencies, designing workflows and training on new processes
- Ability to analyze, diagnose, suggest and implement process changes
- Assist in covering internal help desk tickets related to use of EHR
- Support business projects such as regulatory compliance, provider productivity, patient experience, etc.
System Maintenance and Software Implementation
- Support new implementations of EHR
- Assist in testing of upgrades as necessary
- Identify problems and assist in resolving issues with software
- Perform some software development tasks in EHR and ancillary applications
- Assist with contacting software vendors as necessary for high level trouble shooting and known issue resolution
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Education and Experience
- Previous certifications, training or super user experience in athenaOne required
- Knowledge and understanding of current trends and developments in health information technology as defined by healthcare reform, HITECH act, MIPS and HIPAA security rules
- At least 2 years clinical experience in a health care setting
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of electronic health records principals; implementation or upgrade support a plus
- Familiar with clinical data and financial reporting a plus
