Position Summary: ANSER is seeking a Research Analyst (Risk and Technology Protection) to provide direct support for an Intelligence Community customer. This role will support research protection, risk mitigation, and security compliance activities. You will provide senior-level analysis of research initiatives, conduct security and vulnerability assessments, and advise leadership on counterintelligence and technology protection risks associated with research and development programs.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Conduct technical assessments.
- Evaluate research initiatives to identify security, counterintelligence, and technology protection risks.
- Conduct security reviews of research efforts and associated performers.
- Develop and support Risk Assessment documentation identifying protection requirements.
- Conduct Performer Vulnerability Assessments, including analysis of foreign ownership, influence, financial concerns, and business activities.
- Identify risks and recommend protection strategies addressing export controls, intellectual property, and classification.
- Analyze threat reporting and counterintelligence information impacting research programs.
- Review Contract Data Classification Guides (CDCGs) to ensure accurate classification markings for research and development program partners and the work they will perform.
- Provide briefings and written analyses to senior leadership to support planning and decision-making.
- Coordinate with security, acquisition, and program teams to ensure compliance with Intelligence Community policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree.
- Minimum 4 years of experience supporting security, counterintelligence, or research protection activities.
- Demonstrated experience conducting security reviews and risk assessments.
- Demonstrated experience conducting vulnerability assessments related to foreign ownership or influence.
- Demonstrated experience drafting/updating/facilitating risk acceptance documents, security classification guides, vulnerability assessments, export control assessments, and program security reviews.
- Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance with polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting research and development program organizations.
- Experience applying counterintelligence principles to research security challenges.
- Experience supporting senior leadership planning efforts.
- Experience supporting a demanding, fast-paced customer environment requiring flexibility, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with minimal editing required for written products.
