About This Position

Description:

1. Ensures adherence to established quality standards and recommends improvements to processes

2. Manages Quality Control for conversion project and data cleanup

3. Acts as primary data product-related liaison to the appraisal district’s public and private customers

4. Aids entities and public with obtaining/understanding standard or custom reports requested

5. Answers public inquiries by collecting information from appropriate personnel if necessary to provide a more complete answer

6. Assists with developing and implementing communications plan including PIA, entity meetings, public presentations, and resolving lodged complaints

7. Assists Taxpayer Liaison with resolving complaints and other duties as necessary

8. Performs other duties as assigned by Chief Appraiser

Requirements:

1. Skills/Abilities

  • Communicating effectively in writing and verbally both one-on-one and in groups
  • Researching, analyzing, and applying large amounts of detailed statutory and administrative materials
  • Planning analytically and strategically
  • Organizing and analyzing complex technical and legal information and articulating it clearly and effectively to others
  • Recognizing need for and strictly observing confidentiality required by law
  • Treating all property owners equally and fairly
  • Working cooperatively with officers and staff at all levels of the District, Tarrant Appraisal Review Board, taxing units, tax assessor-collectors, and law firms representing the District
  • Practicing sound leadership and team-building skills

2. Knowledge of:

  • The standard reporting requirements of appraisal district customers
  • The basic structure of taxing units / tax offices such as the county, cities, independent school districts, TIFs, PIDs, etc.
  • Advanced appraisal district operations, practices, and procedures
  • Personal computers and their productivity software applications
  • Statistical calculations, including ratios, means, modes, medians, percentages, etc.

3. Education/Experience

  • Associates Degree in Business Administration or a related field, or
  • At least five to seven years of increasingly responsible data entry, data delivery, customer support, and / or equivalent experience

4. Other Requirements

  • Commitment to teamwork and providing exceptional public service
  • Must be able to work some weekends and/or nights
