About This Position
The Pipelayer position is responsible for performing various duties on construction projects. Essential Functions:Installs and repair sanitary, storm, sewer structures, and pipe systemsInstalls underground WET utilities such as water or sewage, beneath the ground.Reads, identify, and understand blueprints related to all above and below ground utilitiesReports any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources ManagerAligns and position pipesChecks slopes for conformance to requirements, using instruments such as lasers and grade rodConnects pipe pieces and seal jointsCovers pipe with earth or other materialsLevels trench bases, using machinery or hand toolsEnsures a clean and safe working environment and addressing any potential safety concernsOther duties assignedSafetyResponsible for ensuring OSHA standards and company safety policies are complied with at all times including but not limited to operation of tools, equipment and machineryCorrects unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediatelyPHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
