Job Title: Resale Shop Associate Department: Development

Position Type: Full Time Reports To: Manager of The Cottage Shop

Location: Houston, 77006 Salary: $15.00-$17.00 Hourly

Travel Percentage: 10-20% Pay Schedule: Semi-monthly

Description: As a Cottage Shop Resale resale/ cashier associate, you will play an integral part in the daily operations of our resale shop.

You will work alongside a passionate team to create a welcoming and thriving retail environment while supporting the overall goals of the Women's Home Organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a warm, friendly, and positive shop atmosphere and shopping experience that satisfies the needs of customers, donors, and volunteers.
  • Work with the shop manager and staff to support the daily operations to increase sales revenue.
  • Strong merchandising, customer service and understanding of the Women’s Home Mission.
  • Work with clients of TWH, provide training skills and guidance throughout their shift with a positive and empathetic approach.
  • Operate the register (POS) system Point of Sale system.
  • Sort, price, replenish and merchandise items on sales floor.
  • Serve as primary cashier, sales/floor associate.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and overall appearance of the shop.
  • Must be able and willing to cross train in all other areas of the shop.
  • Must be available to work on Saturdays.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education (GED).
  • Strong merchandising, customer service and cashier experience is required.
  • Personal computer skills and experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems
  • One to two years customer service experience and training preferred.
  • Ability to work Monday through Saturday.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
