About Mystic Valley Regional Charter School (MVRCS)

Founded in 1998, Mystic Valley Regional Charter School (MVRCS), located in Malden, Massachusetts, serves more than 1,750 students in Kindergarten through Grade 12.

Students in Grades K–12 attend school in dress code and benefit from an extended academic model that includes a 200-day school year and a school day approximately 60 minutes longer than traditional public schools, providing increased time for meaningful learning.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a structured classroom environment, including daily routines and schedules
  • Foster a positive classroom culture, including implementation of the 4:1 positive reinforcement model
  • Deliver instruction using Direct Instruction and the Core Knowledge curriculum with fidelity
  • Plan, document, and reflect on daily lessons; submit weekly updates to the Professional Development Coordinator (PDC)
  • Track and report on student progress, including weekly successes and challenges related to instruction
  • Participate in all required professional development sessions
  • Attend and contribute to weekly grade-level meetings, Teacher Assistance Team (TAT) meetings, and bi-monthly staff meetings
  • Participate in IEP meetings and complete all required special education documentation, as needed
  • Implement accommodations and modifications in accordance with IEPs and 504 plans
  • Prepare and complete four progress reports and four report cards annually for all assigned students
  • Conduct four parent-teacher conferences annually (two in the fall and two in the spring)
  • Attend key school events, including Back to School Night, open houses, holiday performances, and the High School Senior Luncheon
  • Fulfill assigned duties, including morning, lunch/recess, and dismissal coverage
  • Uphold all school policies, procedures, and expectations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze data, draw meaningful conclusions, and inform instruction
  • Understanding of school policies, state and federal regulations, and MVRCS expectations
  • Strong collaboration, instructional, and leadership skills within a team environment
  • Commitment to student success and continuous professional growth
  • Successful completion of required Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL) within one year of employment
Position Details

This is a full-time position with annual appointment and yearly evaluation.
