This role is responsible for leading the successful execution of large-scale utility capital projects across transmission, substation, and distribution systems. You will oversee the full project lifecycle, ensuring that initiatives are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to client expectations. Acting as both a project leader and client-facing representative, you will coordinate multidisciplinary teams and align internal and external stakeholders to achieve complex infrastructure objectives. The position requires strong leadership in managing schedules, budgets, risks, and performance metrics across multiple concurrent projects. You will play a key role in guiding teams, mentoring professionals, and ensuring accountability throughout execution. This is a high-impact role in a fast-paced environment where operational excellence and stakeholder collaboration are essential to project success.
- Lead the execution of multiple transmission, substation, and distribution capital projects across all phases of the project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout.
- Oversee project performance across safety, schedule, budget, quality, reporting, and client satisfaction metrics.
- Manage project teams, ensuring accountability, alignment, and effective delivery, while mentoring and supporting team development.
- Serve as the primary liaison for clients and stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring clear communication throughout project execution.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to manage resources, resolve issues, and ensure seamless project delivery.
- Identify, assess, and control project risks, ensuring proactive mitigation strategies are in place.
- Track and manage project changes, ensuring proper documentation, approvals, and alignment with project scope.
- Prepare clear and concise project reports, dashboards, and performance updates for internal and client stakeholders.
- Analyze project challenges and implement solutions to improve outcomes and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, safety standards, and organizational processes.
- 15+ years of experience in project management within utilities, construction, engineering, or related industries.
- Proven experience managing capital projects and multidisciplinary teams in complex environments.
- Strong background in client-facing roles, acting as a liaison between organizations and stakeholders.
- Excellent ability to manage multiple priorities and complex project portfolios simultaneously.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
- Solid understanding of project execution, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management principles.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10–25% domestically.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
- Preferred: PMP certification, engineering design experience, or construction/field background.
