SCOPE OF THE POSITION
The Foodservice Account Manager represents multiple foodservice manufacturers and brands, acting as the primary liaison between customers (restaurants, distributors, institutions) and Affinity Group Canada’s represented Clients. This role is responsible for driving sales performance, delivering exceptional representation, and cultivating strong business relationships while executing territory plans and account strategies.

KEY EXPECTATIONS OF THE ROLE
1. Account Management & Sales Execution

  • Conduct sales presentations to new and existing national and regional multi‑unit foodservice accounts.
  • Execute a minimum of four (4) sales calls per day, including product sampling as part of the sales process.
  • Maximize sales potential across all Clients’ products within assigned accounts.
  • Prepare and negotiate contracts, programs, and pricing with key accounts
  • Maintain strong relationships with all customers and decision‑makers.
  • Support end‑users and distributors through product demonstrations and menu application training.
2. Distributor & Trade Support
  • Participate in distributor trade shows, trade events, and foodservice‑related industry activities.
  • Book and manage distributor promotions, when applicable.
  • Respond promptly to distributor sales representative leads and requests.
  • Obtain necessary approvals for product sample releases and ensure proper documentation.
3. Planning, Reporting & Administrative Responsibilities
  • Input daily call reports into the CRM system; ensure timely submission of all required data.
  • Submit a monthly territory planner outlining upcoming coverage and priorities.
  • Monitor sales performance against targets and budget expectations.
  • Report to the regional sales manager daily to retrieve messages and maintain communication and align on regional plans.
  • Maintain effective, organized scheduling to balance account coverage and respond quickly to opportunities.
Key Competencies & Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle for business purposes.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, negotiating, and managerial skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • In‑depth knowledge of foodservice products and their menu applications.
  • Thorough understanding of the foodservice distributor/supplier network.
  • Strong grasp of marketing, merchandising, and effective selling techniques.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and CRM tools.
  • Positive attitude towards work, customers, and colleagues.
  • Self‑motivated, independent, and eager to learn.
  • Strong ability to multi‑task and remain results‑oriented.
  • Demonstrates initiative and a commitment to personal and professional growth.
