Description:

Purpose of the Job:

This position provides order preparation activities associated with organizing and coordinating quotes, estimates for internal team members and orders as they become ready for production.

Job Functions and Performance Standards:

  • Performs activities associated with estimating, order coordination, composition, planning and programming for digital press
  • Creates print orders that are unique to each customer in the Total Order Management System (TOMS) using supplied specifications according to established guidelines.
  • Review files for printability including resolution, crops/bleeds, size, completeness and any other attribute that may affect the quality of printing.
  • Enter quotes into TOMS for estimating as per established guidelines
  • Converts information provided from TOMS into uniform production tickets complete with production standards via the Planning Estimating Manufacturing (PEM) system.
  • Ensure all order & inventory management functions are completed from order initiation to order completion and warehouse inventory entry
  • Perform unique order activities such as assembly on demand sheets, PEM Assembly orders, etc. as needed
  • Communicate outside purchases through the Purchasing Agents via the Purchase Requisition, or through PEM Outsourcing, or TOM’s quoting as appropriate
  • Update PEM with approved pricing
  • Understand and support manufacturing guidelines and prepare orders to maximize throughput
  • Search ASI for non-medical ancillary supplies for estimate pricing
  • Utilize pricing matrix to develop cost estimates and proposals
  • Add appropriate margins, labor costs and other costs as approved by Director of project operations and/or Director of Corporate Compliance
  • Perform composition and imposition to files to ensure proper printing
  • Program orders to the appropriate press for production
  • Support the Imperial operations team through daily sharing of information and completion of work through the “pool concept” and “FIFO”

Requirements:

Education:

  • Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school is helpful

Licenses/Certifications:

Experience:

  • Two years’ experience and/or training. Experience in graphics arts or pharmaceutical/bio-tech industry preferred.

Skills:

  • Basic computer skills including, but not limited to the specific software programs: Windows, and the Microsoft Office Suite of Products, Adobe Acrobat, Creative Suites.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, margins, etc.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
