Job Description
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 10 hours each day
Operator/Material Handling
This position is located on-site in our Bayou La Batre shipyard
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Fundamental knowledge of rigging, Equipment Operator functions and qualifications
- Experience operating and maintaining forklifts, Rough Terrain Cranes, Crawler Cranes, OTR trucks and trailers and Marine Travel lift. Provides Rigging guidance and inspections.
- Must be able to follow schedules and deadlines.
- Inspects Rigging straps, wire ropes and chains before using.
- Periodically lubricates equipment.
- Must be able to work safely and promote a safety conscience culture, understand standard flagging hand signals.
- Employee insures only qualified personnel operate equipment.
- Reviews heavy lift plans with engineering and production personnel
- Must be able to read and comprehend equipment load charts and operating guidelines.
- Ensures equipment is inspected Daily before operation. Inspects rental equipment at delivery and prepares for return to rental agency.
Qualifications / Skills / Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in equipment operations
- Must have a valid State issued Driver’s License, Class A CDL desirable.
