Performance Improvement Specialist
The Performance Improvement (PI) Specialist is a full-time exempt position that reports to the Performance Improvement Manager and is responsible for implementing performance improvement programs, which may include Correction Action Process (CAP), Self-Assessment, Benchmarking, Operating Experience, Lessons Learned, Performance Gap Analysis, Trending, Root Cause Analysis, Cause Investigations, and any other duties as assigned by the Performance Improvement Manager. Continuously improve PI program execution to increase efficiency and results of the program and ensure effective identification, screening, analysis, resolution, implementation and measurement of performance issues. Prepare performance data and adverse trends using observations, CAP, self-assessment, benchmarking, operating experience, and performance indicator data. This position requires an intermediate level of knowledge of ASME NQA-1 requirements for corrective action program.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and implement Performance Improvement standard operating documents (SODs), ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance standards.
- Analyze and interpret corrective action data and performance metrics, generating detailed reports and actionable insights for management.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of performance data to identify trends and systemic issues using CAP data, self-assessments, benchmarking, operating experiences, and performance indicators.
- Lead and participate in CAP investigations and condition screenings, providing structured insights and recommendations.
- Mentor cross-functional teams on performance improvement processes, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Develop and refine performance indicators to track and enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Coordinate and prepare materials for Performance Improvement meetings and CAP review board meetings, facilitating discussions with senior management.
- Compile and present comprehensive weekly and monthly status reports, offering key insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Independently guide and assist teams in conducting thorough cause analysis tasks, ensuring high-quality outputs.
- Contribute to and manage initiatives to improve Performance Improvement software and related tools, ensuring user needs are addressed.
- Other duties as assigned by the Performance Improvement Manager.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- BS, BA in applicable field (e.g., math, science, engineering, or business administration).
- 6+ years' experience in a nuclear performance improvement or corrective action program work environment preferred.
- Root Cause analysis or cause analysis experience preferred.
- Experience working with government organizations such as Department of Energy (DOE) and/or the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (MRC), as well as industry groups like the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) is preferred.
- Strong customer service and training skills and a desire to achieve results.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerBI.
- Experience working with Confluence, JIRA, INPO IRIS, and Devonway.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong oral and written technical communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Skilled in setting priorities.
- Excellent analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills.

Job details:
Salary Range Level 10: $117,922 - $176,833
* We typically place offers in the lower to middle portion of the range to maintain internal equity and allow room for growth. Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected individuals qualifications experience. This range is specific to Washington State.
