About the Role

Work Location: On the road in and around the local Oceanport region

We are seeking Transport Aides who are responsible for aiding participants in “through the door” transportation to the health center, home, medical appointments, or other destinations as part of transportation services. The Transport Aide also assumes responsibility for communications while the van is in motion and reporting any changes observed in the participant's condition.

What You'll Do

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

The Transport Aide always delivers courteous and friendly consistent customer service in assisting clients to get in and out of the vehicle and walk them "through the door." They must make sure all items or any other devices are stored away properly. Transport Aides must promote safety to and from destinations in a safe manner. Applicants must have a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs.

Qualifications

Education & Training

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred but not required.
  • Valid state driver's license preferred but not required.
  • Valid CPR/First Aid card is preferred but not required.
  • Ideally, a minimum of 1 year working with a frail or elderly population
  • Aides should be familiar with the driving region and the surrounding areas.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing
  • Must be physically able to perform strenuous tasks.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions for a safe work environment
  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, co-workers, medical staff, and the public.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

Working Conditions

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must provide a current driving record printout when applying (Valid 30 days from date of application)
  • Must pass pre-employment screening - background and drug screen which includes alcohol screening

Physical Requirements

Aide must be able to pass the physical test:

  • Lift up to 50 LBS, push up to 150 LBS
  • Bend from the waist
  • Pivot from waist
  • Be able to move from a standing position to kneeling position back to standing

The pay range for this role is:
15.92 - 17 USD per hour(NJ01 - BoldAge Oceanport)
