Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Tire Processing Equipment Operator to operate and maintain heavy-duty machinery including the OTR (Off-The-Road) Tire Cutting Saw, PC/TB Tire Saw, Belt Grinders, and a 10-ton overhead crane. This role is essential in preparing large industrial tires for tire testing by cutting, sectioning, and buffing them to precise specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience with industrial equipment, overhead crane and forklift operation, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate large OTR Tire Cutting Saws to section off-the-road tires safely and efficiently for testing purposes.
  • Use PC/TB Tire Saws to cut passenger car and truck tires to specified dimensions.
  • Operate Belt Grinders to buff and prepare tire sections for detailed testing and analysis.
  • Safely operate a 10-ton overhead crane to lift and position OTR tires onto the cutting saw.
  • Operate forklifts to transport tires and materials throughout the facility.
  • Inspect tires before and after cutting to ensure quality and compliance with testing requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on all equipment.
  • Monitor equipment performance and report any malfunctions or safety concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Follow all company safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Accurately document production data and equipment usage logs.

    • Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of experience operating industrial cutting or grinding equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of safe crane and forklift operation is required.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes (10-ton capacity or higher) required; certification preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, safety instructions, and technical manuals.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs and standing for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a loud, dusty, and physically demanding environment.

  • Industrial manufacturing and tire testing facility.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Requires use of PPE including gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots.
