Associate Attorney - Corporate Defense

  • Represent clients involved in various transportation related incidents, including auto accidents, tractor/trailer collisions, bus accidents, crane mishaps, dump truck incidents, fatalities, and motor vehicle accidents (MVA)
  • Provide comprehensive legal counsel and defense strategies to individuals, businesses, and insurance companies operating within the transportation/trucking industry
  • Conduct thorough investigations into accidents, analyze evidence, asses liability, and develop defense strategies tailored to each case's unique circumstances
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediation, and court proceedings
  • Conduct legal research and provide legal analysis on various issues related to transportation and personal injury law
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
  • Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
  • Participate in case strategy discussions and negotiations
  • Manage case files and maintain accurate and organized records
Experience
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the State Bar of Texas
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in corporate litigation/insurance defense
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Excellent oral communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Willingness to travel when necessary
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
  • Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
  • Participate in case strategy discussions and negotiations
  • Manage case files and maintain accurate and organized records

  • Competitive quarterly bonus plan based on monthly billables - ability to earn an additional $52k annually

  • Hybrid schedule (3 days/week in office, 2 days/week at home)
  • 401k + firm match based on previous year revenue. In 2024 we matched up to 6%

Compensation is commensurate with years of experience/bar admittance date #LI-CO1
$110,000 - $165,000 a year
