For over a century, our fourth-generation family-run produce distribution company has built a trusted reputation for delivering fresh, high-quality products with care and consistency. At the heart of our success is a commitment to food safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. We're proud of our legacy—but even prouder of the standards we uphold every day. Now, we're looking for a detail-oriented and passionate Food Safety Coordinator to help us protect what matters most: the safety and integrity of the food we deliver.

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Food Safety Coordinator to join our Compliance team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation and oversight of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) program and related food safety compliance initiatives. This position plays a key role in ensuring our food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies are met and maintained throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure alignment with SQF and regulatory food safety standards, maintaining and updating related policies and procedures.
  • Perform annual reassessments of SQF and HACCP programs.
  • Develop and deliver training on food safety, food defense, and GDP requirements.
  • Maintain the food safety system manual, SSOPs, and other critical documentation.
  • Manage verification and validation programs.
  • Conduct internal audits and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Prepare documentation and support regulatory and third-party audits.
  • Analyze and report trends on compliance-related metrics.
  • Monitor policy implementation within the warehouse environment.
  • Maintain records and documentation related to compliance activities.
  • Support additional compliance efforts related to DOT and OSHA as needed.
  • Assist Equipment teams to ensure SQF maintenance requirements are upheld.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong follow-up abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to work with diverse teams including management, frontline employees, vendors, and auditors.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Ability to learn internal systems such as Produce Pro.
