About This Position

About the Role:

As a Fireproofer 1, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of buildings and their occupants. Your primary responsibility will be to apply fireproofing materials to structural steel and other surfaces, in order to prevent or delay the spread of fire. You will work closely with other members of the construction team to ensure that all fireproofing is applied correctly and in a timely manner. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will be essential in this role. Ultimately, your work will help to protect lives and property in the event of a fire.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in construction or a related field
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other technical documents
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the job, including lifting heavy materials and working at heights
  • Commitment to safety and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in fireproofing or a related field
  • Experience with spray-applied fireproofing materials
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and other safety standards
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities:

  • Apply fireproofing materials to structural steel and other surfaces, using a variety of techniques and equipment
  • Ensure that all fireproofing is applied correctly and in accordance with safety standards
  • Collaborate with other members of the construction team to ensure that fireproofing is completed on schedule
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, and follow all safety protocols
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards

Skills:

In this role, you will use your knowledge of fireproofing materials and techniques to ensure that buildings are safe and secure.
