About This Position

SHOP LEADER (Assistant Manager)

This role is hourly, 30+ hours a week starting at $30.00 an hour.

Our Mission:

At molly moon’s, we're dedicated to making the world a better place, one scoop at a time. Our scoop shops are more than just ice cream parlors; they're multi-generational gathering spaces where happiness and sustainability are at the heart of everything we do. From our kitchen to your cone, each scoop is a testament to the hard work of our dedicated mooncrew, underscored by strong local partnerships, a commitment to sustainable practices, and the finest ingredients. The world is a big place, made smaller, we believe, by the act of sharing a sweet treat with someone you love.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Shop Leader to help open and lead one of our brand-new locations, set to open this June. This shop will be busy right from day one, launching just as summer kicks off—so we’re looking for someone ready to hit the ground running! This is a dynamic, people-first leadership role designed for someone who thrives on connection, problem-solving, and bringing positive energy to every shift.

This role functions similarly to an Assistant Shop Manager and is a stepping stone to becoming a future Shop Manager. You’ll work five days a week, and be on-call 4-5 days per week—acting as the go-to leader when your Shop Manager is off. You’ll be responsible for ensuring smooth operations, supporting your team, and leading with confidence and care.

As a Shop Leader, you’ll be the heartbeat of both shops—coaching team members, fostering community, and jumping into whatever’s needed with positivity and resilience. You’ll focus on two key areas of leadership:

  • Hospitality Leadership: Your primary focus. You’ll lead the hospitality team and ensure every guest has a warm, memorable experience. You should love people and love making their day.

  • Customer Experience & Shop Aesthetics: You’ll help maintain service excellence, team engagement, and a clean, inviting space that reflects our brand.

Since these are smaller shops, this role is perfect for someone excited about variety and visibility—getting to know two different teams and learning how to lead across multiple spaces.

If you’re a natural leader who’s energized by a customer-first environment, excited to grow, and passionate about people, we’d love to meet you!
