Job Overview:

As a Construction Dispatcher/Customer Service representative, you will be the vital link between drivers and customers, ensuring seamless logistics and efficient dispatching. Utilizing core skills in logistics, analysis, and communication, you will coordinate ready-mix concrete deliveries and provide exceptional customer service with impeccable phone etiquette. Your premium skills in transportation management systems and supply chain will enhance transportation planning and optimize operations. With relevant skills in data entry, multi-line phone systems, and fleet management, you will excel in managing construction dispatch operations effectively. Responsibilities:

  • Dispatch Operations: Assist with dispatching trucks to customer locations, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups.
  • Customer Service: Answer incoming customer, driver, and plant manager calls. Address customer inquiries and provide exceptional service to expand our customer base.
  • Scheduling & Coordination: Schedule orders for aggregates, cement, containers, and dumpsters while ensuring accuracy and timely dispatch.
  • Tracking Deliveries: Monitor truck status to ensure deliveries are made on time and provide updates to customers as needed.
  • Route Planning: Plan delivery routes, adjusting to accommodate changes.
  • Safety Oversight: Ensure drivers follow all safety protocols and guidelines during transportation.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain dispatch documents, invoices, and bills, ensuring accurate information.
  • Inventory Systems: To ensure smooth operations, learn and manage inventory through different computer programs (Integra, AMCS, Apex, etc.).
  • Communication: Coordinate with customers regarding material details, delivery/pickup schedules, and special instructions.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure the team’s success and customer satisfaction.
Requirements:

Skills & Qualifications

  • Fluent in Spanish and English is required. Conversational.
  • Previous dispatch experience is a plus
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle high-volume calls.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve team goals.
  • Willingness to learn new systems, including inventory management software.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when scheduling and handling orders.
