Critical Care Medicine Intensivist

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Develop, interpret, implement, and oversee medical policies and procedures for the critical care units. Provide medical supervision, oversee quality assurances of the medical staff and other allied health professionals in the critical care unit. Establish and maintain procedures for the distribution, acquisition, and management of controlled substances. Ensure that patient rights and confidentiality of patient information is maintained. Participate in identifying, collecting, and reporting relevant statistical data to reflect the activities of the department and staff. Treat young adults, middle-aged adult, and elderly patients; to be knowledgeable about developmental needs over the age span of the population being served; to apply age specific teaching/learning concepts to patients and their families/ significant others. Ensure patient education and specific teaching plans are incorporated into the plan of care. Supervisory duties of critical care nurses.

Experience and Education include:

• Completion of Critical Care Fellowship
• Completion of Internal Medicine Residency
• Doctor of Medicine or foreign equivalent
• Massachusetts Medical License
• 36 months of experience in Critical Care Medicine
