About the role

As a Team Member at Smashburger, you’ll report to the Restaurant General Manager and play a key role in creating a great experience for our military guests and their families. Whether you're on the grill or at the register, you’ll help us deliver Better Burgers. Better Teams. Better Experiences.

• Lead the Guest Experience - Set the tone for exceptional service by modeling friendly, respectful interactions—whether on the line or on the floor. Guide the team to greet every guest with energy and care.

• Foster a Team-First Culture - Promote a positive, collaborative work environment by communicating clearly, resolving conflicts, and supporting team development during every shift.

• Drive Order Accuracy and Efficiency - Oversee order flow, verify accuracy, and ensure speed of service. Coach team members to upsell effectively and work cohesively under pressure.

• Ensure Guest Satisfaction - Monitor the dining experience—check in with guests, respond to concerns promptly, and ensure each visit exceeds expectations.

• Maintain a Safe, Clean, and Compliant Operation - Enforce all food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards. Lead by example and hold the team accountable for maintaining a guest-ready environment.

• Demonstrate Integrity and Accountability - Uphold company policies and lead with honesty and professionalism in all decisions—from shift management to cash handling.

• Lead by Example - Show up on time, in uniform, and with a positive attitude. Set the standard for performance, attitude, and guest focus throughout the shift.

Qualifications

• Leadership Built Here - Prior experience in food service or leadership is preferred, but not required—we develop strong leaders through hands-on training and support. All supervisors must complete and pass Smashburger’s management training program.

• Minimum Age Requirement - Must be at least 18 years old to serve in a supervisory role.

• Physically Ready to Lead - Able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and comfortably kneel, bend, twist, and move throughout the shift in a fast-paced environment.

• Handle the Heat & Lead the Pace - Capable of leading in hot kitchen conditions while keeping energy high and operations moving smoothly during busy shifts.

• Reliable and Committed - Must be dependable and available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays—leading by example.

• Professional Presence - Maintain a polished and professional appearance at all times in compliance with Smashburger’s uniform standards.

• Base Access Clearance - Must successfully complete the background check process to gain access to Naval Air Station Coronado.
