About This Position

Job Overview:

The main responsibility of this position is to ensure that nursing students comply with all clinical requirements before the student is allowed to register for a clinical nursing course. It involves communicating with students, faculty, and the clinical staff of the facilities to meet the clinical requirements. This position also ensures that faculty documents are available as required by the NJ Board of Nursing and the school’s accreditor.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum of an associate degree, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Proficient in in the use Microsoft suite, especially Excel and Word
  • Office organizational experience
  • Consumer service, preferably in an academic setting
  • Ability to work with a team

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Shift- 9:00 am-5:00pm
  • Monday- Friday
  • Full Time

Essential Functions:

  • Reviews all clinical requirements of students accepted to re-enter the program at any point (course). There are approximately 100 re-entry students accepted into the program every semester
  • Prepares a spreadsheet with each student’s report and informs TSON administration the status of compliance one month before the students’ registration dates
  • Submits the names of students who have cleared all clinical requirements to the Dean before registration dates
  • Notifies students whose documents are expiring
  • Follows up with students by email regarding requirements that need completion
  • Answers students’ questions related to clinical requirements
  • Ensures that students applying to re-enter the nursing courses have completed/updated their requirements prior to registration
  • Meets with each nursing class to inform/update students with clinical requirements
  • Completes and transmits students and faculty forms required by affiliated agencies before student clinical experience
  • Attends pre- and post-clinical affiliation meetings with affiliated facilities
  • Maintain a record of proceedings of such meetings.
  • Assists with creating individual faculty electronic tracker upon hire
  • Ensures all documents are uploaded
  • Maintains a hard copy of Official Transcript in secured file
  • Approves documents according to TSON guidelines
  • Monitors on-going document compliance
  • Communicates with faculty, required document renewals
  • Generates reports as requested
