About This Position
Job Overview:
The Respiratory Care Practitioner provides therapeutic, supportive, and diagnostic respiratory services and care to all patients.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Therapy program
- Current New Jersey Respiratory Care License
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association
- ACLS Certification - required upon hire
- Previous clinical & weaning protocol experience
- Reasonable knowledge of respiratory equipment function
- Patient assessment skills
Scheduling Requirements:
- Shift working, Day Shift
- 36 hours per week
- Full-Time
Essential Functions:
- ABG documentation
- Assures appropriateness for continuation of discontinuation of therapy
- BiPAP Documentation
- Charging documentation
- Documents patient education
- Establishes priority scoring for new starts
- Intubates
- Labels, gloves, needle protectors, filter pro
- Maintains and cleans equipment
- New Start according to polices
- Panic Value notification
- Reports pertinent information to oncoming personnel
- Treatments done according to policy
- Ventilator documentation
- Verifies physician orders
