Yard Jockey/Hostler 2nd Shift

This position is expected to Grab Trailers the Hostler position will work as an equal team member and help us obtain our goals by performing the following duties and working with other employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. (Other duties may be assigned.)

• Understand and follow: Hiland's standard operating procedures for the Warehouse department.
• Drives and backs tractor/trailers up to dock for loading and unloading and parks them in designated area when loaded.
• Ensures refer units are working properly before spotting the trailer and that the trailer is properly attached to trailer before moving.
• Inspect all trailers for damage upon arrival on yard.
• Make sure trailer brakes are properly set, unload empty cases from trucks and trailers and close doors to trailer and ensure that each trailer is properly sealed before loading dock.
• Periodically records refer to temperatures of all loaded trailers and check refer fuel tanks for adequate fuel before spotting trailer.
• Follow safety procedures to insure safe operation and notify supervisor of any mechanical issues with trailers.
• Operate industrial forklift to assist in loading or moving product. Follow Forklift Safety procedures as outlined in OSHA standards.
• Performs other routine warehousing and manual cleaning chores, as need requires.
• Special projects assigned by management.

• POSITION: TRAILER JOCKEY
• PAY RATE: $22.62/hr
• DAYS: Sun 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m,
• Mon-Thurs.-1:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m.
• CDL REQUIRED
• WORK WHERE NEEDED WHEN ASKED.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

CDL Required
