Mold Maintenance Technician at PREMIER ALUMINUM – RACINE, Wisconsin

Day of Work: Monday - Friday 1st Shift

Primary Functions

Assist with preparation, maintenance and repair of tooling for permanent mold production including disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and setup. We are willing to train the right candidate.

Duties and Overall Responsibilities

• Mold preparation and maintenance
• Perform general fabrication, repair or replacement of furnace tools, ladles, intermediate tubes and other production support equipment
• Perform repair or minor modifications using machining operations and bench work on tools, dies, fixtures, jigs, etc. with the use of dimensional prints or models overseen by supervisor
• Perform mold repair in foundry as needed
• Metal fabrication
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Mechanically inclined
• Willingness to learn and work in a hands-on environment
• Basic experience or comfort using hand tools and power tools preferred
• Ability to operate or learn to operate a forklift
• Team oriented with strong focus on safety
• Auto mechanical experience is highly transferable

Preferred (not required)

• Welding, fabrication, machining or mechanical repair
• Exposure to manufacturing, foundry or production environments
• Basic mechanical knowledge or related training/education

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements for this position require continuous standing and intermittent walking, bending, sitting, and lifting of parts that may at times be in excess of 50Ibs.
