About This Position
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Network Security Engineer in United States.
This role sits at the core of enterprise cybersecurity operations, focusing on securing large-scale, dual-stack (IPv4/IPv6) network environments across hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure. You will work on advanced security systems including firewalls, DNS, VPNs, AWS environments, and Zero Trust architectures to protect mission-critical government and enterprise networks. The environment is highly technical and fast-paced, requiring strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex connectivity and security issues. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams while also operating autonomously on operational and project-based assignments. This is a hands-on engineering role where you will directly impact security posture, resilience, and performance of large-scale infrastructures. It is ideal for someone who thrives in complex networking environments and enjoys building secure, scalable systems.
- Configure, manage, and optimize enterprise firewall environments including Cisco Firepower/ASA and Palo Alto Networks platforms, ensuring high availability and security performance.
- Troubleshoot complex network and security issues across multi-device environments including firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, IDS/IPS, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
- Support dual-stack IPv4/IPv6 infrastructure, ensuring secure and reliable routing, switching, DNS, and DHCP operations across enterprise networks.
- Maintain and tune security policies, signatures, and rulesets while ensuring compliance with operational and security standards.
- Monitor network traffic, analyze logs, and respond to security incidents and threats in real time.
- Extend and secure network environments into AWS cloud infrastructure while supporting hybrid deployments.
- Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting activities within enterprise ticketing and knowledge management systems.
- Participate in on-call rotations and collaborate with distributed teams to ensure continuous network security operations.
- 5+ years of experience working with Cisco Firepower/ASA and Palo Alto Networks firewalls in enterprise environments.
- Strong background in routing, switching, and network security across mid-to-large-scale infrastructures.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting complex network issues involving multiple security devices and cloud connectivity.
- Solid understanding of IPv4/IPv6 networking, DNS, VPNs, load balancing, and security architecture principles.
- Experience working with both Linux and Windows operating systems in operational or engineering contexts.
- Ability to analyze system behavior, identify misconfigurations, and assess impact on mission-critical services.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently using technical documentation and vendor support resources.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and operational teams in a remote environment.
- Bonus: experience with Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA) or other Zero Trust security solutions.
- Competitive salary range ($130,000 – $145,000 depending on experience and location)
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with high employer contribution
