IPS is seeking individuals that are passionate about helping those that struggle with mental illness, substance abuse, homelessness, and forensically involved clientele. We are currently seeking an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our team!


Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Director of Nursing, the Midlevel Provider is responsible for providing a full range of primary mental health and substance abuse treatment services to patients, with a focus on promotion of optimal mental health, prevention and treatment of psychiatric disorders, including medication management. Practice within licensed scope of practice with supervision/collaboration with the medical director, along with other team members.

Daily responsibilities:

  • Evaluate Patients

  • Obtain and record health histories as appropriate

  • Perform physical and development assessments as appropriate

  • Order appropriate diagnostic tests and labs

Perform a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, including patient mental status, current and past histories of violence and self harm behavior, substance use, level of functioning, health behaviors, trauma, medical and social history, and family history.

Develop appropriate differential diagnoses. This may include ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, identifying typical and atypical presentation of psychiatric disorders, differentiate psychiatric presentations of medical conditions and arrange for consultation evaluation and follow up as needed.

Develop treatment plans for psychiatric and co-occurring substance use disorders based on practice guidelines and evidence based standards of care. This includes treatment of acute and chronic psychiatric and mental health issues.

  • Initiate referrals as appropriate consulting with Supervising Physician

  • Complete all documentation timely, efficiently and in its entirety

  • Maintain health record and document all items required for Meaningful Use

  • Accurately completes all patient notes within 48 hours

  • Forwards completed documentation to Supervising Provider for signature as needed

  • All outpatient patient charges are entered at the end of each patient encounter

  • Addresses and completes all patient tasks daily

  • Assists supervising provider with completion of their tasks

  • Assist with paperwork and forms as directed by the physician

  • Returns patient calls as needed

  • Completes call rotation as assigned by Medical Director

  • Completes end of day process

  • Verify all messages have been handled for the day

  • Ensure tasks, labs, diagnostics have been reviewed and addressed as needed

  • Communicates with supervising physician any items that need to be addressed for the clinic

  • Log off their work stations properly

Requirements/Qualifications

    Licensure Req: APRN-CNP, DEA certifiedPreferred addition: PMHNP-BCMasters Degree in NursingMust be a board certified/board eligible licensed Midlevel ProviderPsychiatric treatment experience preferred.Must be comfortable working in a small clinic environmentMust be a team player and be willing to put the needs of the patients firstExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsStrong computer proficiencyAbility to plan ahead, organize and manage multiple prioritiesWilling to become proficient in Medication Assisted Therapy for opioid use treatment (including training for suboxone prescribing).

Schedule: Monday- Friday : 8:00a – 5:00p IN PERSON

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,172-$152,859 per year
