Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Wraparound & Care Management
- Supervise Care Manager Supervisors to ensure quality standards and effective supervision practices
- Ensure Wraparound principles are reflected in Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and WFAS outcomes
- Collaborate on enrollment processes, including youth involved in the juvenile justice system
- Partner with internal teams to identify community resources and monitor provider quality
- Enhance systems and tools to improve care management efficiency and fidelity
- Monitor performance metrics and implement quality improvement initiatives
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with Medicaid regulations and standards
- Partner with Quality teams to conduct audits and maintain regulatory readiness
- Ensure adherence to CARF standards, policies, and procedures
- Support record requests, including electronic health records and HIPAA compliance
Staffing & Talent Development
- Recruit and retain high-performing care management staff
- Develop leadership pipelines through stretch assignments and mentorship
- Promote cross-training and sharing of best practices
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Build high-performing teams through coaching, training, and consistent supervision
- Recognize and reward employee achievements
- Serve as backup for leadership roles as needed
- Collaborate with System of Care partners to improve processes and outcomes
- Participate in on-call support rotation
Process Improvement & Technology
- Establish and track performance metrics to drive continuous improvement
- Partner with Technology teams to optimize tools and reporting capabilities
Required Knowledge
- Intellectual/developmental disabilities
- Substance use disorders
- NJ Children’s System of Care (CSOC)
- Wraparound model and WFAS
- Child behavioral health, child welfare, and juvenile justice systems
- Mental health diagnoses and treatment approaches
- Cultural competence and diversity considerations
- Relevant laws and regulations
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and people management skills (coaching, feedback, conflict resolution)
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Change management and process improvement
- Ability to manage complex and high-pressure situations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology
- Active NJ license (LCSW or LPC required; LSW or LAC considered if pursuing clinical licensure)
- Minimum 4 years’ experience within NJ Children’s System of Care
- Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience in behavioral health, child welfare, special education, or juvenile justice
