Job Description:

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Technical Editor Senior, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of GCIO Services. You will play a crucial role in ensuring alignment to CMMC, ISO, and established Cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Lead/Manage/Support the development, standardization, editing, and maintenance of IT process and Cybersecurity documentation across multiple IT and business functions. You will own the lifecycle of policies, standards, processes, procedures, handbooks, disaster recovery plans, work instructions, process flow charts, RACI charts, and audit evidence.
  • Collaborate with SMEs in IT Architecture, Operations, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Compliance, and Audit to translate complex requirements into clear, actionable content.
  • Drive the alignment of GCIO Services' documentation to CMMC 2.0, ISO 27001, and established Cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-171/53).
  • Utilize Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Visio, AI tools, and application-specific tools.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your program management expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Technical Editor Senior must have:
  • Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
  • Experience: 5+ years of related experience
  • Technical skills: Technical writing and editing, governance, and process documentation in an IT environment; hands-on experience with CMMC 2.0, ISO 27001, and NIST cybersecurity frameworks; and a strong understanding of ITIL processes, SDLC, configuration and change management, and version control.
  • Role requirements:
  • Exceptional writing clarity, structure, and attention to detail
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Analytical skills with the ability to synthesize across environments and frameworks; ability to identify gaps and improve documentation usability and audit readiness; ability to establish and enforce templates, style guides, and review cadences for documentation

  • (Optional requirements include: ITIL Foundation, ISO 27001, Security+, CMMC practitioner training and certifications; and knowledge of cloud governance, data protection, MS Copilot, and third-party risk management)

The likely salary range for this position is $81,349 - $109,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
