Job Overview:
The Application Analyst III is primarily responsible for supporting the design and build of the designated application.
They are primarily responsible for the overall build of the workflows, system configurations, change documentation and support of operations for the application.
They are self-directed and work with minimal supervision and are a knowledge resource for Application Analysts I & II.
The Application Analyst III is responsible for the installation, upgrades and the configuration of the application.
The Application Analyst III assists in the coordination of customer support activities.
The Application Analyst III creates the test scripts for the application, executes the test scripts, and documents all test outcomes, including advanced troubleshooting skills and support these activities apply to implementation, upgrade, and maintenance initiatives.
The Application Analyst III is responsible for addressing customer or build issues, recommending mitigation plans and escalating more complex issues above their knowledge base.
The Application Analyst III also provides on-call support for the application through go-live and ongoing maintenance period.
Qualifications:
Education:
Preferred: Bachelor s degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience
Minimum: Associate s degree with four or more years of relevant work experience
Work Experience:
Preferred 5+ years prior system build experience
Demonstrated ability to support and develop the application and mentor others
Previous experience working with specified customer base,
Ability to handle moderate complexity of work with minimal supervision
Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum: Certification in specified application as applicable;
Applicant is expected to maintain certification as current by completing New Version Training (NVT), as applicable,
For certain clinical applications, clinical licensure is preferred and may be required as specified in Job Aid
Responsibilities
The Application Analyst III is the primary support for the assigned application(s),
In addition to the duties discussed in the Role Description, the Analyst is responsible for the following:
1) Executing Application Design and Build:
Participation of ITAM applications,
Coordinates with ServiceNow Team to optimize ITAM application capabilities and workflows,
Utilizes external resources for best practice builds and solutions,
Performing thorough review of all Foundation Build and operational requested content and workflows for ITAM applications,
Investigates, documents, and evaluates current state workflows as it pertains to build and offers technology solutions for workflow enhancements in collaboration with analyst peers, training staff and other stakeholders,
Collaborates with the training team and others to ensure alignment between the proposed training curriculum and the ITAM system build,
Oversee and/or perform analysis of necessary ITAM application modifications,
Works with minimal supervision to accomplish tasks and objectives,
Acts as a resource for Application Analyst I & II by coaching, and developing ITAM Analysts to ensure accurate asset data, strong governance practices, and consistent execution of ITAM processes across all assigned sites,
Support the development of Change Readiness demonstrations and documentation
2) Application Support:
Provides high level go live and post implementation support for ITAM applications, including advanced functionality, integrations, and downstream impacts,
Serves as the primary ITAM application representative in Integrated Area Workgroups, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and asset governance,
Demonstrates deep subject matter expertise across ITAM domains, including asset lifecycle management, compliance, reconciliation, and reporting,
Partners with customers and technical teams to define, refine, and prioritize enhancement requirements, ensuring business and regulatory needs are met,
Owns and maintains continuous documentation of system configurations, enhancements, and ITAM policy and process updates,
Leads investigation and resolution of complex ITAM issues and audit findings, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning,
Proactively identifies problems and opportunities within scope, driving resolution without requiring escalation when appropriate,
Acts as a knowledge resource and preceptor for ITAM staff, promoting consistent practices and skill development,
Reviews and validates work performed by newly certified analysts and Level 1 and Level 2 analysts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards,
Maintains awareness of industry trends, ITAM tooling enhancements, and emerging risks, assessing potential impact to the enterprise and recommending actions,
3) Documentation and Communication:
Ensures strict adherence to ITAM policies, procedures, and governance standards, including hardware and software lifecycle management, license compliance, and asset data integrity,
Enforces procedures for managing offline, non networked, and sensitive assets, ensuring complete documentation, chain of custody controls, and risk mitigation,
Communicates directly with customers regarding ticket status, resolution outcomes, and constraints when requests cannot be fulfilled,
Documents key decisions, issues, and risks in designated trackers during system builds and project initiatives,
Supports application and data governance activities, including development of business cases and supporting rationale for ITAM related decisions,
Maintains version control for workflows, decision logs, and issue/risk trackers to ensure audit readiness and traceability,
Oversees resolution of routine issues and roadblocks, escalating complex or high risk items in accordance with governance and management protocols,
Provides timely and clear communication to management to support informed escalation and decision making,
Delivers clear, concise oral and written communications to project teams and stakeholders
