About This Position
Job Summary:
The Student Volunteer Manager will perform a wide range of administrative and office support functions to facilitate the efficient and successful operation of the student volunteer programs. Programs include, but are not limited to, the Ambassador Program, ER Care Partner Program, and Patient Rounding Programs as well as all others developed. Specific responsibilities are to promote student programs in the community, cultivate relationships with local universities and colleges, engage in recruitment efforts using various avenues, tools, and techniques.
The Student Volunteer Manager is responsible for interviewing potential candidates to include onboarding processes, in-depth student orientations, program-specific training, monitoring, gathering and preparing monthly productivity reports. Ensure students stay compliant with DNV guidelines, yearly hospital policy reviews and evaluations when applicable.
Creates and maintains schedules which meet the needs of the student programs as well as oversees the maintenance of student volunteer files. Duties also include timekeeping for student volunteers, fielding and routing incoming phone calls, written correspondence and emails.
The Student Volunteer Manager will also support the director with the day-to-day operations of Volunteer & Guest Services, including oversight of the Information Desks, Mail Services, and Canteen during the absence of the director. The Manager shall perform any tasks, as well as oversee all administrative and office support functions, including staff for each respective area, to facilitate efficient operations when necessary. Must be able to make appropriate business critical decisions independently.

Qualifications:
Education/Skills:
A two-year college degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Business or Healthcare-related studies is required. Extensive work experience may substitute for some collegiate studies. Must possess skills of independent decision-making, strategic thinking, creativity, professional oral and written skills required to relate effectively to internal and external customers. Must be well-organized and energetic. Experience with Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel preferred. Working knowledge of using multi-line phone equipment and knowledge of Access database preferred.
Work Experience:
Experience in planning, customer relations, marketing, or healthcare related area required. Experience with data processing systems, telephone systems, office equipment such as fax and copiers preferred. Excellent planning skills and organizational abilities to meet deadlines, strong communication skills and excellent grammar are required.
