- Produce daily news stories and briefs covering federal, state, local, and international tax developments
- Report on legislation, regulatory actions, and legal cases relevant to tax professionals and policymakers
- Attend and cover hearings, webcasts, and live events as required
- Conduct research and assist with news sourcing and information gathering for tax-related coverage
- Translate complex legal and tax issues into clear, accurate, and accessible journalism
- Collaborate with editorial teams to ensure timely and high-quality publication of content
- Track evolving tax policy trends and identify emerging news opportunities
- Maintain accuracy, speed, and consistency across multiple daily reporting assignments
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field
- 2+ years of full-time, paid reporting experience in journalism or news media
- Strong writing, reporting, and editorial judgment skills
- Demonstrated ability to organize information and meet tight deadlines
- Interest in or knowledge of tax policy, legal issues, or financial regulation
- Ability to simplify complex technical or legal topics for a broad professional audience
- Strong research skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced newsroom environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience covering legal, business, or policy topics is a plus
