Requisition Number:R157709 GROUP EXERCISE INSTRUCTOR (Open) How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:The group exercise instructor teaches group exercise classes for Carilion Wellness.

• Uses correct exercise technique for class teaching.

• Projects a friendly and positive attitude.

• Teaches safe, effective and motivational exercise classes using guidelines established by department.

• Attends workshops and incorporates new materials into individual classes as needed.

• Ensures facility cleanliness after use.

• Maintains a satisfactory score on performance and fitness evaluations.

• Motivates members to keep exercising and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

What We Require:

Education: Basic knowledge of health and fitness is required.

Experience: none

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Must possess a Carilion Wellness approved group exercise certification prior to hire (e.g. Les Mills, Zumba, Barre Above, or a NCCA-accredited or NBFE approved organization).

Other Minimum Qualifications: Ability to instruct exercises in a confident manner to a group of people. Demonstrates a knowledge and understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the human body as it relates to exercise and safety precautions.
