A Propane Driver safely delivers propane to residential, commercial, and agricultural customers, requiring a CDL class B with HazMat/Tanker endorsements, performing pre-trip inspections, handling tanks and hoses, ensuring safety compliance (like leak tests), providing customer service, and completing paperwork, often working varied hours, especially during peak seasons, and sometimes involving tank maintenance or installation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safe Delivery: Operate a propane truck, load/unload, and deliver bulk/cylinder propane following all DOT rules and safety protocols.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally, address concerns, explain system operation, and provide emergency support.
- Safety & Compliance: Conduct leak tests, pressure checks, inspections, and maintain accurate delivery/maintenance records.
- Vehicle & Equipment: Perform daily truck inspections, keep vehicles clean, and assist with tank maintenance, setting, or removal.
- Documentation: Complete delivery tickets, inspection reports, and other necessary paperwork accurately.
Primarily local routes, home nightly
- Requires physical work, heavy lifting, and working outdoors in all conditions.
- Involves interacting with the public and representing the company.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
License: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)- minimum Class B with Tanker (N) and Hazardous Materials (H) endorsements.
Physical: Ability to lift heavy tanks and equipment in various weather conditions.
Knowledge: Understanding of propane systems, safety, and customer needs.
Certifications: May require NPGA CETP certification.
