Do you have a passion and drive to apply your talents to make a difference? The Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity (GMHFH) ReStore is seeking a Warehouse Associate to support our mission of helping local families build strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.

Department: ReStore, in-person

FLSA Status: Full Time Hourly, Non-Exempt

Schedule: According to candidate and store needs, must work Saturdays

Reports To: ReStore Manager

Supervises: none

Summary:

The Warehouse Associate helps unload the truck when the drivers return from pick-ups. They also bring furniture and items out on the floor throughout the day. This requires following safe practices for handling donations and the ability to effectively communicate with donors and express the mission of GMHFH. They will assist in the warehouse organizing merchandise and loading purchased goods.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Loading the salesfloor with merchandise throughout their shift.
  2. Unload donated items from Donor’s vehicles as they are in the Donation Lane. Approve or deny donations based on if they are in good, sellable condition.
  3. Impart GMHFH’s mission on donors and provide proper documentation for their donations.
  4. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  5. Assist the truck drivers with unloading their donation pickups when they return to the store. Assist with getting items out on the sales floor directly from the truck.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  1. Attend community and GMHFH events and assist with set up.
  2. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Desired Education and Experience:

  • Experience handling heavy goods and loading goods for transport preferred.
  • High school diploma preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Able to communicate well with staff and donors.
  • Dependable and able to stick to a schedule.
  • Excellent customer service skills to respond to any questions or concerns.
  • Flexibility to switch to different tasks quickly.
  • Able to focus on and complete loading of the truck for the entire shift.

Compensation & Benefits:

The hourly rate for this part-time, in-person position is currently $16 hourly and the position includes a 20% discount to Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity ReStores.
