Position Summary:
The Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking tohire three motivated professionals to serve as the Research Coordinators tosupport and coordinate enrollment for clinical research studies.
This individual will be responsible for working witha diverse team of clinical investigators and research staff to coordinatecurrently active research studies. Primary duties include research studysubject enrollment including data and research specimen collection. Oversees student employees in screening and data entry and data qualityassurance tasks. Coordinates, plans and executes study promotional activitiesto keep clinical staff informed about active research studies. Additionalresponsibilities include site investigative file maintenance, reporting ofprotocol of safety information to the institutional review board (IRB) asneeded and regular communication with the research team and clinical trialsponsors and their representatives.
This position requires applicants to work in theemergency department. Hence, applicants must be able to collect and preparedata and research specimens in accordance with protocols, maintain regulatorybinders, and supervise the process of data entry and quality assurance. This position may require scheduling evening and weekend work hours in order tomeet enrollment demands.

Conditions of Employment:
- Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check. Additional health screenings may be required, dependent on the nature of the research conducted, as determined by Employee Occupational Health Services.
- Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
- All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in identifying barriers to understanding and knowledge gaps
- Experience with Microsoft Office products including spreadsheets (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Experience delivering oral presentations to small groups
- Completion of a Human Research Protections (HRP) Training and Good Clinical Practices curriculum or program
- Medical experience or current license (EMT, RN, etc.) or experience working with Protected Health Information (PHI)
- Research experience including the use of data collection software (REDCap, OpenClinica, etc.)
- Experience maintaining and updating clinical study binders
- IRB and grant submission experience
- Basic understanding of research study design and statistics
