About This Position
POSITION DETAILSAddictions Recovery Center, Inc. (ARC) in Medford, Oregon is a behavioral health treatment and supportagency providing a trauma informed, comprehensive continuum of substance use and co-occurringmental health disorder services throughout Southern Oregon.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist whose work will directly support both client careand agency stability by ensuring payroll, financial records, and accounting processes are accurate,compliant, and reliable. This role plays a vital behind-the-scenes part in maintaining the operationalintegrity that allows ARC programs and staff to focus fully on recovery services.
The Accounting Specialist supports the Finance Team through accurate payroll processing, thoughtfulfinancial administration, and collaborative problem solving. Through precision, discretion, andconsistency, this role helps strengthen ARC’s financial systems and contributes to a supportive, well-functioning workplace.
Role Impact

Key ResponsibilitiesDuties include, but are not limited to:
Payroll Processing• Setting up new employees in payroll systems• Processing pay changes, deductions, and final paychecksACCOUNTINGSPECIALIST• Reviewing, verifying, and closing time records• Collecting and verifying timekeeping information• Calculating wages and deductions accurately• Processing payroll through the designated payroll system• Ensuring accurate and timely distribution of paychecks or direct deposits• Ensuring compliance with all federal and state payroll laws and regulations• Collaborating with Human Resources to ensure accurate employee records and benefitdeductions• Assisting with 401k and benefit reconciliation• Responding to employee payroll questions and resolving discrepancies
Accounting Administration• Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes• Preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts• Assisting with month end and year end closing activities• Generating financial reports as requested• Recording payment receipts and preparing bank deposits as needed• Processing accounts payable including coding, entry, reconciliations, and payments• Preparing company credit card reconciliations• Assisting with 1099 reconciliation and processing• Investigating and resolving accounting discrepancies• Maintaining awareness of accounting rules and regulatory changes• Providing backup support to the Purchasing Assistant as needed• Completing special projects and additional tasks as assigned

EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS & SKILLS
Education, Credentials and Skills should include:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate degree in related field preferred
Required Skills/Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting and payroll processing
• Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software and payroll systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Compensation and benefits include:
• Most ARC employees are scheduled four-days a week to support their ability to maintain a healthy
work and life balance; medical and sobering positions are scheduled to work three days a week
• Starting wage ranging from $31.79 to $36.56 an hour, depending on credentials, skills, and
experience
• Three (3) to six (6) weeks of Vacation accrued per year, based upon years of service
• Sick time is accrued for all employees based on regularly scheduled hours
o Paid sick-time hours accrue for full-time employees based on the hours worked and are
prorated for part-time employees
• Ten (10) Paid Holidays each year: New Year’s, MLK Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day,
Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day
Additional benefits include:
