Lifesteps, a local, human services agency, is currently recruiting for a Full-Time Behavior Specialist to work with individuals who live in a Lifesteps community home program or individuals who are external participants. Behavior Specialists promote individual health, safety, and quality of life through behavioral skill development.
Job Duties:
- The Behavioral Specialist performs a functional assessment and develops strategies to support a participant accordingly. This could include: social emotional plans, functional behavioral analyses, behavior plans, restrictive procedures, and associated documentation necessary for tracking plan implementation.
- Provides on-site training to participants, staff, parents and caregivers and monitors participant success.
- Develops effective behavior support plans to be utilized by the care team and evaluates participant progress.
Full-Time: 9:00am-5:30pm M-F

The Behavior Specialist will be based in the Murrysville / Monroeville area and will travel throughout Westmoreland, Washington, and Allegheny Counties to provide services to adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. The schedule is 9 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Master’s Degree in Human Services or a closely related field.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Current driver’s license and valid auto insurance..
Preferred:
- Coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and experience working with adults with an intellectual disability
- ABA Certification
- Trama-informed care, such as Certified Trauma Professional (CTP) or Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
- PA Behavior Specialist Licensure
