About This Position
The Aerial Lineman is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial telecommunications infrastructure. This role involves working at heights on poles and structures to place and maintain fiber optic and copper cable systems while ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, maintain, and repair aerial fiber optic and copper cable systems
Perform pole climbing, ladder work, and work from bucket trucks
Lash, strand, sag, and tension aerial cable according to specifications
Transfer existing cable and equipment during rebuilds or upgrades
Set poles, anchors, and guys as needed
Read and interpret construction prints, maps, and work orders
Identify and troubleshoot line issues and perform corrective actions
Maintain proper clearances and follow NESC and company standards
Complete daily job reports and documentation accurately
Work safely around traffic, power lines, and active utilities
Follow all OSHA, company, and site-specific safety regulations
Previous experience as an Aerial Lineman or similar telecom role preferred
Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor environments year-round
Ability to lift 75–100 lbs and perform physically demanding work
Knowledge of aerial construction tools, materials, and techniques
Ability to read prints and use measuring tools
Valid driver’s license required (CDL a plus, depending on role)
OSHA 10/OSHA 30 preferred
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and on-call as needed
Strong safety awareness
Attention to detail and quality workmanship
Team-oriented with good communication skills
Reliable and punctual
Willingness to travel if required
Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
Working at heights on poles and bucket trucks
Exposure to traffic, construction sites, and active utility lines
