Medical Technologist - Morning Shift at Orion Laboratories – Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM (with a 1-hour break included); Rotating Saturday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM

Orion Laboratories is a CAP-accredited, CLIA-certified clinical reference laboratory headquartered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Founded in 2017, Orion delivers comprehensive diagnostic testing services to physicians, hospitals, health systems, employers, and government agencies across Louisiana. Our services are supported by locally based teams and an integrated platform encompassing technology, infrastructure, and logistics.

We are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technologist to join our team. At Orion Laboratories, you will work under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager and perform a wide range of clinical tests, including both automated and manual procedures. The ideal candidate will thrive in a team environment and demonstrate a strong willingness to grow and expand their skills.

• Pay starting at $25.00 per hour, with potential to earn up to $35.00 based on shift differentials, skill proficiency, and supervisory responsibilities

• Perform routine analysis on specimens and interpret results using approved testing procedures without error and within designated turnaround time.
• Monitor test systems to ensure acceptable performance levels and perform corrective actions when needed.
• Follow CLIA, CAP, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as described in their respective guidelines.
• Report any performance, compliance, or staffing-related issues to supervisors.
• Identify and resolve operational problems promptly to maintain seamless laboratory operations.
• Communicate any issues with results or testing to the client services and operations teams.
• Provide suggestions and recommendations to enhance workflow.
• Act as a liaison between departments to streamline collaboration and operational efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

• MLT, MT/CLS, Louisiana State Licensed
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or a related science
• Experience as a Medical Technologist/Technician
