The Planner plays a key role on our Customer Focus Team (CFT) at the Business Unit (BU) level. This role has the principal responsibility for managing inventory levels, adherence to demand management processes, alignment, and material alignment to support forecasted revenue and manufacturing plans. The Planner works with the BU Supply Chain Director, BU Planning Manager, or both, in achieving Planning-related deliverables, as per best practice, to align alignment to Creation Performance Objectives. Working closely with the CFT and Buyers, they are accountable for material availability and cost to effectively meet both the customer’s needs and our internal supply chain metrics. Success in the role includes a positive, proactive approach to daily work along with strong communication and organizational skills.

Role Overview

The Supply Chain Intern will support the management of inventory levels and targets, to develop and/or improve reports and processes that will lead to exceeding targeted key performance indicators, and other key Supply Chain initiatives as required. This role will support improving relevant processes and tools, identifying and consolidating best practices, and developing new strategies for the business to enable more efficient inventory control and optimization.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited internship program; degree program must be related to Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Commerce, Operations Management, or a related field

• Available for a full-time, onsite paid internship placement (4 months)

• Legally entitled to work in the United States.

• Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (specifically Excel proficiency)

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal), and ability to clearly articulate fact-based opinions/ideas

• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Proactive approach to learning, curiosity and openness to asking questions and seeking feedback

• Experience or demonstrated ability to analyze existing workflows, processes, and procedures to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement

• Experience in ERP systems would be an asset

What you will learn

• Conduct data analysis and generate standardized reports

• Utilize systems such as Oracle and other relevant tools for supply chain processes

• Support for account management in functional areas such as production, planning, materials management, quality, engineering, and new business as appropriate

• Support inventory management, customer order management, and supplier management

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Physical Demands

As expected within a typical office type environment however may on occasion spend an extended amount of time standing or walking in a production environment. The incumbent must possess enough strength to safely maneuver around archived materials up to 25lbs without injury to themselves or others.

Mental Demands

Emotionally capable of professionally handling high-pressure situations in a fast paced, highly demanding industry.

Working Conditions

Equal mix of office and production environment. You will be required to wear safety clothing and gears when working in safety sensitive environments.
