The University of Pittsburgh’s Division of Philanthropic & Alumni Engagement (PAE) seeks a Senior Prospect Research Associate to support the MageeWomens Research Institute and Foundation (MWRIF). Flexible hybrid or remote work options may be available. The Medical and Health Sciences Foundation (MHSF) serves as the fundraising entity for joint philanthropic initiatives between UPMC and the University of Pittsburgh Schools of the Health Sciences, providing a central point for patients, alumni, and friends to support clinical and research priorities. This position manages all prospect research requests from MWRI leadership and development officers and conducts research exclusively aligned with MWRIF priorities.
The Senior Prospect Research Associate conducts moderately complex research, evaluates potential donors, and prepares detailed prospect and donor reports. The role partners closely with gift officers to advance fundraising goals, maintains data integrity, applies formal research methods, analyzes quantitative and qualitative data, and adheres to established guidelines, procedures, and standards.
Job Duties:
Researches donor prospects, gathering, evaluating, and synthesizing information.
Conducts moderately complex research to identify individual, corporate, and foundation prospects.
Produces detailed, accurate, and appropriately thorough profiles and reports.
Partners with gift officers to support fundraising strategies and goals.
Maintains data integrity by tracking relevant information and updating internal systems.
Assesses the giving capacity of potential donors.
Applies formal research methods and principles to address research questions.
Analyzes quantitative and qualitative data to draw sound conclusions and make informed recommendations.
Identifies the data, materials, and resources needed to complete research projects.
Recognizes when issues or decisions should be elevated to management and communicates effectively with stakeholders.
Works within established unit guidelines, procedures, and processes.
Manages time, workload, and priorities effectively, delivering highquality work and consistently meeting deadlines.

Essential Functions

Maintains data integrity by tracking, updating, and entering pertinent information into internal systems.
Physical Effort
Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Additional details about Required Licensure/Certification: Comfortable with either fully remote OR hybrid/on campus, willing to adjust for the right candidate. While routine travel is unnecessary, incumbent may attend field-related professional development offerings (i.e. conferences, workshops, meetings). This typically happens no more than twice a year.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid: Combination of On-Campus and Remote work as determined by the department.
Hiring Range: $52,000 to $58,000 Annually
