Warehouse & Operations Associate at Central United Cooperative – Lafayette, Minnesota

Primary Objectives of the Position:

The primary function of this position is handling incoming freight, organizing inventory, and supporting daily warehouse and field operations. This role works closely with customers, sales staff, and field crews to ensure efficient movement of materials and equipment.

Major Areas of Accountability:

• Unload and process incoming freight shipments
• Sort and organize incoming materials into designated bins
• Deliver bins and materials to job sites as needed
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and perform regular inventory counts
• Stock and organize warehouse inventory, including placing stock orders
• Assist customers with product inquiries and order fulfillment
• Maintain and organize outdoor lot areas
• Coordinate with crews to prepare and dispatch equipment for jobs
• Collaborate with sales staff to support order accuracy and customer satisfaction
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Other:

• Must be in good physical condition capable of lifting, carrying and pushing weights up to 50 pounds and have full use of both arms and legs and both hands.
• Must be able to climb stairs, reach above, below and at shoulder level, work on moving machinery, work at unprotected heights with dust, fumes or gas and in temperature extremes both inside and outside.
• Must attend all educational training required by law.
• Must comply with all safety regulations and policies of the company.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma desired but not required.
• Must have or be able to obtain a valid Class A commercial driver’s license with haz-mat and tanker endorsements, or be able to acquire the licensure immediately.
• Must be an insurable driver.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a wide range of customers and work colleagues.
• Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, energetic, and adhere to deadlines.
• Must have the ability and willingness to work extended hours in peak seasons.

Value-Added Qualifications:

• Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.
• Previous customer service experience
• Mechanical aptitude is desirable.
• Cooperative experience and/or an agricultural background.
