This position will require 5-hour shifts on Saturdays.

About the Role:

The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Primary Care plays a critical role in delivering comprehensive healthcare services to infants, children, and adolescents. This position focuses on providing primary care that promotes health, prevents illness, and manages acute and chronic conditions within the pediatric population. The practitioner collaborates closely with families and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans that address both physical and emotional well-being. By integrating evidence-based practices and clinical research, the role ensures the highest quality of care while adhering to regulatory standards such as DEA regulations. Ultimately, this position aims to improve pediatric health outcomes through expert assessment, patient education, and compassionate care delivery.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Nurse Practitioner license with certification in Pediatrics or Family Nurse Practitioner.
  • Active Prescriptive Authority
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • PALS Certification
  • Knowledge of DEA regulations and active registration related to prescribing controlled substances.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in pediatric primary care or a related healthcare setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical care skills specific to pediatric patients.
  • Ability to provide patient education and support to families in diverse healthcare environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in pediatric primary care
  • Advanced certification or training in pediatric care.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and data management.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary healthcare teams within primary care settings.
  • Additional certifications in family nurse practitioner practice or related specialties.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough health assessments and physical examinations of pediatric patients to identify health issues and developmental concerns.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including prescribing medications in compliance with DEA regulations and monitoring patient progress.
  • Provide patient and family education on disease prevention, health maintenance, and management of chronic conditions.
  • Collaborate with pediatricians, oncologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and support clinical research initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed clinical documentation while ensuring adherence to Basic Life Support (BLS) protocols and critical care standards.

Skills:

The required skills such as DEA regulations and Basic Life Support (BLS) are essential for safely prescribing medications and responding to emergencies in pediatric care. Assessment and critical care skills enable the practitioner to accurately diagnose and manage complex health conditions in children. Patient education skills are used daily to empower families with knowledge about health maintenance and disease prevention. Proficiency in pediatrics and oncology allows the practitioner to address a broad spectrum of health issues, including specialized care for children with cancer. Clinical research and nurse practitioner expertise support evidence-based practice and continuous improvement in primary care delivery.

Salary: $80,000 -$130,000 / annually (salary will vary based on full time and part time status)
