About This Position

Position Description:

We are looking for a seasoned commercial lender who has at least five years of commercial lending experience with a high level of understanding of all commercial banking products with a proven ability to market services to qualified prospects.

As a Commercial Lender with KS StateBank, you are responsible for managing relationships with our customers and creating new business relationships. This role requires an understanding of the financial industry, a commitment to community engagement and an ability to bring in new business for the bank. You are responsible for identifying, soliciting and developing attractive lending and deposit opportunities. You are also required to make good business decisions to avoid losses and to diligently collect and liquidate non-performing loans and accounts.

This lending position may be a good fit for someone with experience in consulting and client relationship management as well someone who is a leader with a proven track record of client growth and retention. If you are highly motivated, detail oriented, can work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment, are self-motivated to succeed, and have the ability to make quick, logical decisions this may be the position for you.

We currently have a full-time position available Monday through Friday, working 40 hours per week. Wages start at $80,000 - $140,000 based on experience.

Job Responsibilities:
Establish, develop and maintain aggressive/direct prospect calling and high-quality relationship management
Maintain a sound and profitable loan portfolio with maximum income and minimum losses while collaborating with Credit Risk to ensure the loan committee has all relevant information to make accurate loan decisions
Minimize problem credits and/or delinquencies by maintaining high credit standards, documentation procedures and timely collection efforts
Proactively collect information from borrowers to ensure loans can be closed in a smooth and timely fashion
Act ethically at all times and ensure all actions are in compliance with regulations and applicable laws while staying knowledgeable of industry regulations
Maintain up to date and complete knowledge/understanding of the banks lending and depository processes and procedures to ensure compliance
Represent the bank at all times (cognizant of how your actions may affect the banks reputation in the community)
Required to participate in business and community events that will increase the banks visibility to enhance growth and build relationships
Required to participate in the banks call program and provide accurate up to date information to management to ensure bank visibility and community engagement
Remain up to date on all new businesses, local organizations with a focus on enhancing the banks community presence
Maintain a good relationship with other service providers (example: loan brokers, accountants, real estate agents, business and community leaders, attorney, etc.)
Develop a collaborative customer-centric approach to all banking operations, promoting excellent customer service and satisfaction
Observe and/or analyze a customers or potential customers business and finances to recommend specific product(s) to improve the customers financial situation
Assist in recruiting, training and developing a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement
Provide mentorship and guidance to our staff while encouraging professional growth and development
Demonstrate appreciation and empathy for our staff while fostering a culture of understanding and gratitude along with recognizing and encouraging continue improvement
Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High School Graduate or GED required; Bachelors Degree or higher in a business related degree preferred
Five or more years of commercial lending or related experience preferred
Experience in making credit decisions preferred
Experience in consulting and client relationship management; leader with a proven track record of client growth and retention
High level of understanding of all commercial banking products with a proven ability to market services to qualified prospects
Detail oriented, ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, ability to work independent and in a team environment, self-motivated to succeed, ability to make quick logical decisions
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with all staff in order to maintain a team environment
Foster a collaborative high-performance culture
High level of financial spreading and credit analysis skills
Ability to problem solve, negotiate and present information to prospects
Ability to work in a proactive manner to collect information from borrowers to ensure loans can be closed in an efficient and timely fashion
Must be proficient in the usage of technology: telephone, keyboard typing, Microsoft Outlook and Excel and social media platforms

Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Able to view a computer screen for long periods of time
Must be able to speak and listen clearly both in person and on the phone
Fine visual acuity to read for accuracy
This job may require lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, 10 pounds frequently
