Responsibilities

As the Legal Operations Manager responsible for eDiscovery, you will provide the technical leadership needed to modernize our digital litigation landscape. By applying deep expertise in Relativity and AI-enabled review, you will deliver hands-on solutions and enterprise data governance that empower our legal, IT, and business partners. Key responsibilities include:

  • AI Strategy & Technical Leadership. Act as the senior authority for Relativity and AI-enabled review (e.g., Relativity aiR). You will design advanced workflows, enforce technical governance, and mentor legal teams on prompt engineering to drive pilot-to-production AI implementation.
  • EDRM Lifecycle Management. Direct all end-to-end stages of the EDRM. This includes managing complex identification, preservation, and collection queues while coordinating with custodians and business data owners to meet strict legal deadlines.
  • Advanced Platform Administration. Independently execute high-level eDiscovery operations within the Relativity ecosystem, including workspace architecture, user administration, structured analytics, and the configuration of the Relativity Review Center.
  • Data Integrity & Defensibility. Establish enterprise-wide best practices for data source identification and metadata preservation. You will ensure a rigorous chain of custody and advocate for effective Information Governance to ensure compliance with legal obligations.
  • Strategic Cross-Functional Partnership. Shape digital litigation strategy by leading cross-functional bodies (IT, Security, Compliance) and building trusted partnerships with internal/external legal counsel to influence matter-level case strategy and expert resourcing.
  • Program Maturity & Knowledge Sharing. Elevate the eDiscovery program by developing technical playbooks, communication frameworks, and standardized SOPs. You will also represent the company in external forums to benchmark and integrate industry best practices.
  • Team Leadership & Development. Lead and develop the eDiscovery/legal operations team by setting priorities and workloads, coaching and mentoring team members, driving performance and engagement, and ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery across matters.

The position is classified as a hybrid role, meaning that the work arrangement calls for hours in the office (Bloomington, IL) and virtually. Everyone in a hybrid role is required to spend time in the office. Work arrangements could change over time based on business needs. The selected candidate will be located at Corporate Headquarters in Bloomington, IL.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience administering Relativity cases from processing through production; strong AI/TAR understanding; Strong knowledge of legal technology platforms (e.g., matter management systems, document management systems, etc.).
  • Relativity Certified Administrator - Relativity Certified Expert/Master preferred.
  • Strong IT background with broad knowledge of enterprise data platforms (incl. M365, Purview, cloud/mobile sources)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts for nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Ability to independently manage global operational work while driving strategic initiatives; Proven experience in managing and developing teams, with a focus on employee engagement and performance improvement.
  • Demonstrated people management experience, including hiring/onboarding, coaching, performance management, and developing high-performing teams; ability to lead through change while maintaining strong employee engagement.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Proven experience in user training, support, and process optimization within a legal context.

  • Potential starting salary range: $137,000 - $175,000
    • Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
    • High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
