About This Position
Position Overview: The Coatings Packing Technician is responsible for assisting in both safely and securely packing completed parts as received or better to satisfy company, customer, and quality requirements.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Load completed parts into boxes, crates, or skids for deliveries both internal and external
- Load completed parts from containers, maintaining part and personnel safety
- Provide cross-functional support and perform additional duties as assigned or required to meet organizational goals and objectives.
- Engage in continuous-improvement objectives and seek opportunities to support personal and company growth.
- Review paperwork for required packaging and ensure online production tracking software matches process requirements.
- Keep shop and work areas clean and organized and maintain a safe working environment.
- Prepare parts for coatings application which includes visual inspection, cleaning, sanding, hanging/fixturing, and transferring between sub-departments as needed.
- Review paperwork for required processes, verifying that all requirements match in the production tracking software.
Qualifications:
- Must be a detail-oriented, organized, self-starting individual with verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and efficiently complete tasks with consistency and accuracy, often under pressure and/or short deadlines.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Must be able to endure physical demands of position including repetitive lifting up to 45lbs., standing for long periods of time, wearing required personal protective equipment while demonstrating safe work practices.
- Operate standard equipment such as pumps and cranes and learn to use packaging equipment and tools as needed.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Hours: Approximately 6am-2:30pm. Some overtime work is available and may be required.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English; bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
