About the Role:

The Scheduling Specialist Translator plays a critical role in ensuring seamless communication and efficient scheduling within healthcare and social assistance settings. This position involves coordinating appointments, meetings, and events while accurately translating scheduling information. The specialist will act as a liaison between healthcare providers, patients, and administrative teams to facilitate clear understanding and timely execution of schedules. By combining expertise in scheduling logistics with language translation skills, this role helps to reduce misunderstandings and improve operational efficiency. Ultimately, the Scheduling Specialist Translator contributes to enhanced patient care experiences and streamlined organizational workflows.

Qualifications:

    1. Possesses a high school diploma or GED.
    2. Two years experience of medical translating preferred but not required.
    3. Bi-lingual in two or more languages English being primary are required.
    4. Cultural knowledge of all languages spoken required.
    5. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft office products, and familiarity with network systems.
    6. Ability to understand and present verbal instructions and to exchange verbal information is essential.
    7. Excellent organizational, written and customer service skills necessary.
    8. Ability to travel to all locations and to meetings outside of the service area.
    9. Ability to understand verbal communication and instruction, exchange verbal information and to present information verbally.
    10. Ability to establish and maintain effective, courteous working relationships with patients, staff team members, business entities and others.
    11. Ability to organize, prioritize and problem-solve independently.
    12. This employee would be a co-equal to the other support staff and will require time management skills and the ability to prioritize duties to successfully complete the assigned tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in medical translation or interpretation.
  • Experience working in a multicultural healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage scheduling of appointments, meetings, and events across various departments within healthcare and social assistance organizations.
  • Translate scheduling communications, including appointment details, reminders, and changes, between English and one or more target languages to ensure clarity for all parties involved.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, administrative staff, and patients to resolve scheduling conflicts and accommodate special requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling records using electronic health record (EHR) systems and scheduling software.
  • Provide timely and culturally sensitive communication to patients and staff to facilitate adherence to scheduled appointments and reduce no-shows.
